Michelle also works with people who have expressed problems in their relationships; whether with colleagues such as work place bullying, intimate relationships or with family members and those who would like to use counselling for personal growth and self-improvement.

The therapeutic process is a collaborative one designed to reveal and connect to your true self, allowing you to move in the direction of what will bring value and meaning to your life.  Michelle is committed to empowering you to find the inner resources to cope with day to day stress, heal past wounds and to create a fulfilling life.

Guided by Buddhist principles, Michelle’s therapeutic approach is Humanistic. She believes that everyone is unique and, therefore, cannot be pigeon-holed. Rather than taking a ‘one size fits all’ therapeutic approach she uses her knowledge and experience of different theories to respond to your individual needs. Michelle’s main theoretical models are Psychodynamic, Person – Centred and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). By taking an integrative approach she can help you to gain clarity and insight into your current difficulties; how they may connect to your past experiences and to develop coping strategies to empower you in the future. Interwoven through these models, she practices and encourages an attitude of mindfulness.

Dr Michelle Nyangereka offers open ended and time limited therapy on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis to suit your needs. Each session lasts fifty minutes.  You can work at your own pace, having as many or as few sessions as you feel are necessary.

Starting therapy can be a daunting prospect. Contact Michelle to book an initial consultation to talk about the issues that have been affecting you and to decide whether we could work together. Studies have shown that a good relationship between client and therapist can have a positive effect on client outcomes, so it is important that you find a good ‘fit’ in a therapist.
